To Catch a Glimpse

When that light

switches on,

at that house,

up yonder,

in this village,

tucked away,

off the state road,

it means,

motion.

Deer.

Bear.

Mountain Lion.

When I notice,

stopping to catch

a glimpse,

nothing moving.

Does it know,

I am peering,

from a darkened window,

in this house,

down yonder,

in this village,

tucked away,

off the state road?

I’m believing,

yes.
