Nothing More to Know

Yesterday,

in deep afternoon,

I stretched my lungs:

first conscious spring breath taken.

Everything new:

the trees expanding,

leaves on the way,

shifting songs of

mating birds,

their exhalations,

becoming my inhalations.

And somewhere,

in the glory of that moment,

I understood,

there was nothing more

to know.
