Coming to Know

The trick each morning,

is to give you

enough time,

before

questions,

plans,

gestures,

or facial expressions,

that require focused interpretation.

I’ve come to know,

mostly,

how much time to allow,

that’s what we do:

we come to know,

to watch,

and wait,

and in the waiting,

is love,

the kind that allows,

that knows,

if we hurry,

we’re bound to miss

each other,

in the rush of time,

in the morning.
