Through You

She is long gone,

taking with her

the sun,

moon,

and stars beyond all seeing.

For years we lived blind,

to whatever dreams

life had promised.

We knew

the second

those words were spoken,

that whatever happened,

from then on,

after her death,

it would take a lifetime,

to reconcile.

We can see

the sun,

moon,

and stars now,

though dimmed by grief.

She would want us

to really see,

to really live,

the sweeping magnitude,

of her creative spirit,

lifting us to this;

Let me live,

love,

and see,

through you.
